The business district is known for its stunning historical murals which are painted on the exterior of quite a few buildings. Moose Jaw likewise serves as a railway junction for the area's agricultural produce. Some of the small grain elevators which formerly lined the highway are being replaced by large capacity concrete grain terminals. As the technology becomes more advanced within the fields of transport, road construction and harvest, large inland terminals have become more economically viable. Because of the cities proximity to the Trans-Canada Highway. some plants which process meat, potash, salt, urea fertilizer, anhydrous ammonia and ethanol producers could be situated near the city of Moose Jaw.

Trolley tours of the city are still provided by Moose Jaw Trolley Company, that has been existing ever since 1912. Other highlights of the city are the geothermal spa and CFB Moose Jaw, that is a NATO flight training school.
